Calmness

“I’m leaving.”

She looked one last time at the dark apartment behind. Her voice echoed in the empty walls around her and she finally felt the ending of a most beloved chapter in life.

The realization that this was, in fact, the end brought a chill to her spine. A strange sense of calmness overcame her senses and scared her all at the same time.

She had always possessed an undying wish of never being able to stop. Seldom did she find herself doing nothing, feeling that every minute, every second wasted was a precious piece of life that was lost. There was so much to do, and so little time left in her hands to accomplish it, that she often caught herself overwhelmed by every possible chance one of those dreams might come true.

Maybe that was the reason she fought so fiercely and smiled so strongly and loved so deeply…unfortunately, it was also the reason she fell so hard.

Right now, she felt like falling: cheerfully heartbroken and calmly nervous.
